Anyone who looks at Hatoful Boyfriend and doesn’t understand how it could induce any kind of emotional response clearly didn’t watch enough Don Bluth films growing up.
I will remind you I started with Nageki and went immediately to Ryouta. I don’t remember who I chose next (probably Okosan) but boy oh boy if that isn’t a rough start.
i have completed bbl and gotten all achievements in hatoful boyfriend and i think it has scarred me
Hmm…. Did you know there’s a sequel called Holiday Star? It is also a high quality experience that generally ends in bird feels and general scarring, but there’s a lot of lighthearted sidestories and whatnot to help balance out the feels.
Hatoful boyfriend is weird like at first I’m just having fun because Okosan is pretty funny and then out of nowhere I’m dead because ninjas? And then I’m trying again at getting a better ending and somehow I fall inlove with a ghost even if I didn’t know he was one and then he has to go and I’ll never see him again I’m all really sad and in tears and
this is a game about dating birds. BIRDS. And yet it made me cry like what the hell is this game
You died because you didn’t stick to a single pigeon’s route. Try to choose one character at a time….and just wait until you unlock the final story, Bad Boys Love/Hurtful Boyfriend, because a fun game about pigeons turns into INCREDIBLY SERIOUS feels.
|you cried because nageki's route ending? heh try bbl route.|
is Hatoful Boyfriend worth throwing down ten bucks for on Steam
ABSOLUTELY. It starts out silly, but there’s an unlockable story that ends up surprisingly deep in terms of worldbuilding, etc.
Anonymous said: how do you get the "to be the true java sparrow" ending?? i cant seem to get it ;w;
- Complete the cafe ending
- Play through the cafe again (probably on a new game file), but make Azami and Rabu break up.
You’ll know you have Azami’s route when the Punkgeons attack and the scene plays out a little differently. It’s a really short bonus route, but I think fans of Azami will still enjoy knowing it’s there. Do save beforehand if you want to continue the school year.
(Oh, and to prevent any confusion, this assumes you are playing the HD release - there is no Azami route in the original.)
